State police in Saratoga County were called at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, with reports of a two-car crash in Corinth on Stark Road.

Investigators determined that a vehicle with two people inside was stopped on the shoulder when 52-year-old Matthew Kingsley, of Corinth, struck the car head on and then fled the scene, police said.

There were no reports of injuries in the crash.

Troopers located Kingsley and his vehicle a short time later, and he admitted to being at fault in the accident, according to police.

Testing revealed he had a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent at the time, more than twice the legal limit to drive, police said.

Kingsley was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic law violations.

He was issued tickets to the Corinth Town Court on Tuesday, Oct. 18, and later released to a sober third party.

According to State police, Kingsley has a prior DWI conviction in the past ten years.
